Hello and WELCOME! I’m so glad you’re here! This is a GREAT first step to creating a better YOU!

I’m Kristin Nelson, with Untangled Roots Transformational Coaching, and I have a
passion to help others grow and become better by sharing with you all what I’ve learned while
on a 12.5 year journey of progressively losing mobility to regaining full mobility again.

I learned so much that helped me heal from my past trauma while also learning and implementing the character values of resilience and perseverance. Throughout my difficult journey, which is still ongoing, I learned many ‘self-help’ strategies that I had literally never heard about in my 40+ years of life. In talking to so many others, I found that I wasn’t alone. I am incredibly passionate about wanting to help this world become a better place, by sharing my story and the strategies I learned, in order to create more love in the world, one heart at a time.

I imagine a world where people feel empowered, more confident and will therefore replace hate and fear with love.I currently work at the middle and high school level as a Speech-Language Pathologist. While working with children who have special needs by creating and improving their communication skills is fulfilling, I have felt a huge calling the last few years, (yes, even before I could walk again), to share all I have learned in hopes of helping as many people as I possibly can by showing them they are already equipped with everything they need to better themselves. I'musing this blog as a way to get started in doing just that.

I am a Speech-Language Pathologist by trade, working in the school setting at both the high school and middle school levels. With that said, my most coveted titles are that of Mom and Wife. My husband, Fred (Freddie), my three children, Ayva, Baylen, and Charlotte (my ABCs), and two doggos, Mae and June, are my world. I enjoy playing golf, although most days I don’t think the word “enjoy” comes to mind except for that ONE great shot I make in a short 9-hole round. But I truly do love walking again so I am quick to find that silver lining.

I’m learning to play pickleball and I like to hike, and overall I love just finding joy in everyday things that are no longer difficult. I also have a newfound love of cooking! It’s amazing what you can create when you aren’t constantly thinking about how/where/when you need to move next. You’ll likely hear about some or all of these at some point or another in my blog.
